Now that all the parts fit on the long block assembly, I disassembled the engine for final cleaning and inspection prior to final assembly.
Here are couple of pictures of simple things I've found useful while working on the engine. In the first picture I used 3/8" ID plastic tubing to hold the cylinders in place while rotating the crankshaft.
In the second picture is a handy tip I noticed in a teardown web video of a Porsche 911 engine. Using rubber bands keep the rods more or less centered while rotating the crank and keep them from banging into the case.
